Kore Cardi is an open front cardigan with a beautiful braided cable pattern along front bands. The hemline is unique with playful mind, designed to gently drape when you open it. And it should also be worn with deeply overlapping sides like a kimono.
The body of this cardigan is worked in three pieces, Back, Right Front, and Left Front. Each piece is worked from the bottom up and seamed together. The sleeves are worked in the round from the top down with short-row shaping in the shoulder cap.

Knitting Techniques and Construction
The Kore Cardi employs intermediate-level knitting techniques appropriate for knitters with foundational skills and experience. The cardigan is constructed using traditional garment shaping methods, with careful attention to fit through the underarm and bust areas. The front closure design requires precision in seaming or button band construction at center front, demonstrating intermediate construction complexity.
Yarn and Materials
This pattern is designed to be worked in worsted weight yarn, a versatile yarn weight that knits at a medium gauge and creates a fabric with good drape and durability. The pattern specifies Malabrigo Yarn Rios, which is composed of 100% merino wool. Merino wool provides softness, breathability, and natural elasticity, making it an excellent choice for a cardigan that will be worn close to the body and laundered regularly. The specific yarn choice influences the final drape, texture, and care requirements of the finished garment.
Difficulty Level
The Kore Cardi is rated as an intermediate difficulty pattern, making it suitable for knitters who have completed several projects and are comfortable with fundamental techniques including shaping, seaming, and finishing details. This difficulty level ensures that knitters have the skills necessary to execute the pattern accurately while still providing an engaging project that builds upon existing knowledge.
