Description:
The Raindrop Shawlette is designed to use one full 100 g skein of gorgeous hand dyed yarn in sport or DK weight for the body, plus a little bit of fluffy lace mohair or a mini skein of sock yarn as an accent border color.
The open stitch pattern creates a delicate, lacy texture.
The shawlette has a triangular shape and works from the bottom tip, gradually expanding toward the neck edge. The border is made after the body is finished.
The body works in a main color; border works in 2nd color. Check my blog post for more details on choosing yarn and colors.
Skills:
Basic crochet stitches (ch, sc, dc, tr), making a few sts in the same space, like shell stitch, special spike stitch works like sc but in a different spot from usual sc.
Gauge:
22 sts x 12 rows = 4x4” (10x10 cm) in Open Arches stitch pattern, blocked.
Gauge in pattern repeats: 3 rep (3x8=24 sts) in width = 4.4 in (11 cm); 3 rep (3x4=12 rows) in height = 4 in (10 cm).
