The rain cloud is added using duplicate stitch (my favourite method for adding designs to knitwear!). This means the mittens are knit in plain grey and the cloud and rain drops are embroidered over the top of the plain stitches at the end. Sizes 0-6M and 6-12M are thumbless and sizes 1-2Y and 2-3Y include thumbs.
