If you already love Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran, Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal is the finer sibling to reach for. Customers say it knits up beautifully and brings a lovely, rich tweed look to whatever you make.
Reviewers describe the colours as a real highlight. One reviewer says the colours "sing", and another notes "great colours". The flecks of colour within each shade give the fabric depth rather than a flat finish, which many buyers say makes their projects look pretty and professional.
Several knitters say it is a pleasure to work with, and one describes it as "Lovely wool, knits beautifully". Customers report that it knits up well on small needles, giving fine detail and interesting slubby texture. Some who knit with it say they are happy to wind their own balls by hand.
Reviewers say it holds up well over time. One describes it as "Fantastic casual garments and washes well hard wearing", and another says it wears and washes as expected. Many buyers describe the finished pieces as light and warm.
This yarn suits knitters who want a finer fabric for everyday garments, shawls and accessories. Customers have used it for autumn and winter shawls, a cabled sweater, a fair isle yoked jumper and a warm little fair isle hat. One reviewer used it as a substitute for an older tweed pattern and was pleased with the result.

Lovely tweed yarn, cashmere blend, 4ply.
what can i say about debbie bliss fine yarns well i use the fine yarns and the aran tweed yarns i know that sometimes they have to be wound by hand . This is no problem for me as i carefully place the yarn on my lap and wind the ball this way the lady that complained that she got a lot of knots, and the yarn was sometimes thin in places i rather like this no problem for me all good yarn is pricey these days it all comes down to preference, This yarn is the best i have ever used and the garment...
I love everything about this yarn... it is 4 ply so fine and can be combined with mohair which makes it extra fluffy and stays fine. It has silk and wool so is soft and extremely warm plus the flecks of colours in all of the fine donegal yarns give them depth as they are not just one flat colour. Just lovely!
I bought this as a sub for another brand. I don’t like mohair mix, so when I found this Debbie Bliss Donegal, it was ideal. It knits up beautifully, and the colours sing.
Lovely yarn, soft, light and fluffy. I crochet for a living and use only the finest materials. I use this all the time to do Irish Crochet shawls. I wish there were more colors.
I have bought many different colours of this cotton yarn. I have made three crocheted baby blankets and a "butterfly" shawl that wasknitted and crocheted. The yard washes and wears beautifully and the colours stay bright
This yarn is available in a lovely range of colours. It knits up well and is soft with good stitch definition
Lovely tweed yarn, cashmere blend, 4 ply. Great service from Love Crafts too.
Lovely twee yarn, 4ply, with cashmere. Great service from Love Crafts too.
A textured yarn (ie thick and thin) which makes it awkward to knit with as the knitter needs to keep an eye on it the whole time. Colour flecks add a nice dimension. Too many shortended joins and breaks in yarn. Bought it as recommended by the pattern but would not buy again.
