Here was a beautiful boreal forest of pines, spruce and birch.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMy husband dutifully split and carried in firewood to keep our family warm and cozy. Wood stoves, previously a romantic notion in my head, truly are a necessity.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe rich texture of the firewood inspired these cozy cabled socks. Which, it turns out, are perfect for fireside knitting and wearing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThese are constructed toe-up, with a gusset and heel flap. I’ve included both charted and written instructions, as well as a bobble tutorial. The pattern comes in 3 adult sizes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI’m so happy to share this little glimpse into my world.
