Product Description
Lily petals have a way of being so graceful and dazzling with their twisting curves. This stitch pattern, with its delicate flowing curves and layers, reminds me of Lilium Regale’s exquisite white petals bursting open and curling back to put on their show.
Lilium Regale, an ideal wrap for those cool spring nights, looks more complex than it is! The same motif is repeated throughout, making it easy to memorize and a relatively quick knit.
The pattern includes charts, as well as fully written, line by line instructions.
Construction: Lilium Regale wrap begins with one motif, with additional repeats cast on until the full width is reached. The first panel is completed by ending the motif repeats in the same way. Once the desired length is knit, the second panel begins again. Prefer a narrower or shorter wrap? Adapt the width and length to your preference by adding or reducing repeats.

Lilium Regale Knit Wrap by Nora.Bea.Knits
What is Being Made
The Lilium Regale is a knitted wrap designed to evoke the graceful, twisting curves of lily petals. This shawl features delicate lace elements combined with a generous size suitable for warmth, creating an elegant accessory with a dreamy aesthetic. The wrap is versatile in dimensions, allowing knitters to customize the width and length to their preferences.
Design and Pattern Structure
The Lilium Regale wrap employs a repeating single motif throughout the design, making it more approachable than its intricate appearance might suggest. The pattern is organized into panels, with Panel 2 introducing staggered motifs that create visual interest across the garment. A final Panel 2 bind-off chart completes the wrap. The staggered arrangement of motifs contributes to the overall lily-inspired aesthetic.
One of the key advantages of this pattern is its manageable complexity: at any given time across the repeats, knitters work with never more than two different chart rows simultaneously. This constraint makes the pattern relatively quick to knit despite its sophisticated appearance.
Customization Options
The Lilium Regale wrap is designed with flexibility in mind. Knitters can easily adapt the finished dimensions by adding or reducing repeats, allowing for a narrower or shorter wrap according to personal preference. This adaptability makes the pattern suitable for various body types and styling preferences.
Techniques and Stitches
This intermediate-level knitting project features lace stitchwork that creates the flowing, petal-like curves characteristic of the design. The pattern utilizes chart-based instructions, requiring knitters to read and follow stitch charts. The repeating motif structure and limited number of concurrent chart rows make this an accessible intermediate project for knitters with foundational skills.
Materials
The Lilium Regale is worked in 4-ply yarn weight, specifically in a luxurious alpaca silk blend that provides both softness and drape. The pattern requires standard knitting needles appropriate for 4-ply yarn. The choice of alpaca silk creates a sumptuous fabric with excellent warmth and an elegant drape ideal for a wrap garment.
Skill Level
This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for knitters who have mastered basic stitches and are comfortable reading charts and working with lace techniques.
